Are you ready to transform your theory and knowledge from teaching into practice? Then you might be our next BIM/ICT trainee or graduate in NIRAS' department for Marine, Geotechnology, Tunnels and Bridges.
As an intern in NIRAS, you get specific tasks, get up close to our projects and become part of a professional and social community with both experienced and young employees. We put together a program for your internship that gives you an instructive insight into everyday life as a consulting engineer, both behind the desk and out in the field.
Kickstart your career
The internship is your chance to kick-start your career. You will gain valuable experience and develop your professional skills. Several of our interns have remained at NIRAS as student assistants and later permanently. Some have also seized the opportunity to continue the collaboration in connection with their bachelor's or specialist writing.
About the job
Our goal is to show you as many sides of our subject area as possible during your internship period. This, among other things, could be:
• Supporting technical design and modelling on a broad variety of international projects
• Partaking in the development of BIM services and rolling these out on commercial projects
• Explore a multitude of international BIM requirements
• Actively facilitating the elevation of engineering disciplines with misc. BIM technologies
• If applicable to your technical background, undertake selected area of design on projects while closely mentored by one of our leading experts.
In addition, we will show you the tasks away from the desk, which can consist of planning meetings, construction meetings, inspections and supervision on various construction sites.
As an intern in NIRAS, you will play an active role in the projects, where your efforts contribute to the completion of our projects. You will become a natural member of the department and become part of the daily routine in the office. At NIRAS, you are not left to fend for yourself, and we do not expect you to have completed the tasks at the same time as the experienced people around you. To ensure the best possible learning process, you will therefore always be associated with an experienced colleague who can learn a lot from them - just as your other colleagues are also ready to help.
About you
The internship is for you, who are students and studying for a diploma in engineering in construction and civil engineering, geology, geotechnics with an interest in either the tunnels, marine/offshore, geotechnics or bridges.
We value:
• BIM technology and Digitalization
- Proficient in Revit and/or Civil 3D model authoring
- Computational design in Dynamo or Rhino/Grasshopper and coding capabilities in Python.
- BIM coordination skills
- Interest in exploring and pushing technologies
- Keen on partaking in large international projects with advanced and state-of-the-art adoption of BIM/digitalization
• Insight in fields of engineering e.g. tunneling, structural (concrete, steel and timber), geotechnics, soil mechanics, M&E etc.

• Communication: Proficient in English; Danish proficiency is beneficial.
